Warden (Whinny Hill Wood)

Opportunity image

We are looking for volunteer Wardens to be our eyes on the ground at Whinny Hill Wood.

Regularly walking routes through the wood, the volunteer Wardens will report issues to our Site Manager, and also note any interesting wildlife and interesting plants spotted. We are looking for people that can visit the wood at least once per week, and the role is completely flexible in that you can choose which days and times to visit to suit you.

This volunteer role is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys walking outdoors to help us care for a Whinny Hill Wood near Loch Lomond.

Some wardens are also keen to help out with minor maintenance of the site, such as fixing gates, repairing drains, and cutting back over-hanging vegetation, although this is an optional part of the role.

This role requires availability to visit the wood throughout the year and you will also need access to a phone, the internet and an email address, as well as suitable outdoor clothing for the site – including sturdy footwear.

Ideally we are seeking applicants who live close to the wood, within a few miles.
