Available from 1 December 2023 to 10 December 2023

Release your festive joy and create a magical, memorable experience for others by carrying out one or two of multiple roles for two or more evenings at this year's Tale of the Festive Forest from 1st – 10th December.

This year, we have storytellers taking guests on an interactive tour of the illuminated woods to understand more about the importance of trees and to truly get into the festive spirit. At the end of the story, guests will find themselves in the small craft market, with local crafts people and businesses. From here they can also join Santa’s elves to make a variety of craft items of their own before going to meet the jolly man in red himself!

For this event, you’ll receive a merry event briefing that outlines the different roles for each evening (which include Car Park Elf, Sign In Elf, Walk Guide Elf, Craft Elf and maybe even the chance to play Santa), an elf warm up prior to events starting, a hot drink and snack to keep your festive levels high throughout and costume pieces to borrow to help you look the part. You’ll also be part of a team of adults and young people who are all working together to create magic for visitors, however, you will not at any time be working independently or alone with a young person.

Availability for two or more evenings of the event is essential, volunteering between 4pm-10pm. This event is taking place outdoors so be sure to have warm clothing and suitable shoes.

No former elf-experience is required - you simply need to get into the festive spirit, and the team will guide you for the rest.
