Our Working Groups help us to look after our wonderful woodland sites across the UK, carrying out a variety of practical tasks under the guidance of the Woodland Trust Site Manager.

We are looking for a few more members of our Woodland Working group. We need people who live no more than 30 mile radius of the site.

The groups keep our sites looking great and our pathways accessible, and help us manage the woodland in the best way for biodiversity and for people.

Glen Finglas, the Trust largest site in the UK, covering some 5,000ha and sits at the heart of Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. It works closely with its neighbours and partners as part of The Great Trossachs Forest National Nature Reserve (NNR).

It comprises extensive areas of new native woodland, grazed heaths, wetland and upland grassland, with areas of semi-natural woodland and scattered veteran trees, as well as lower lying fields of improved and semi-improved grassland. It encompasses the glens of Finglas, Meann and Casaig, Milton, the southern slopes of Stuc Odhar and land around the village of Brig o' Turk and along the shore of Loch Venachar.

The Woodland Working group will work together to carry out practical conservation tasks. Tasks will vary in nature, for example, shrub clearance, removing fences & non-native invasive species of plant and clearing viewpoints.
