Young Content Creator (UK-Wide)

Opportunity image

As a young content creator, you'll help us to create inspiring content about the Woodland Trust, helping our organisation to reach a broader audience - especially young people! Content you’ve created could be featured in Woodland Trust communications including our national social media channels and on our websites.

From protecting our temperate rainforests to mapping ancient trees, teams across the Woodland Trust are involved in amazing projects and would love to share this work with younger audiences. That’s where you come in! When a Woodland Trust team needs new content, they will send a brief to our proactive team of young content creators via the handy volunteering app and email. If you’d like to get involved, you can assign yourself to the task and be the one to create it. Your volunteer manager Annabel will set up a meeting to discuss the brief and any questions you might have, and will introduce you to the Woodland Trust staff member leading the project. Tasks could involve photography, capturing inspiring footage for social channels (TikTok, Youtube, Instagram), writing, vlogging and generating creative ideas.

You will need your own phone / camera and will be asked to sign a non-exclusive license to enable any photographs taken for this role to be used by the Woodland Trust to support our work. However, the copyright remains with you so that you can continue to use your photos.

In this very flexible role, you’ll have the freedom to manage your own time to meet each brief deadline. We expect you to help with at least three projects throughout your time with us. This averages out at around 2 hours per month, but you can complete more than two hours per month if you wish, with no upward limit.

We’re looking to recruit one or two people from the specific regions of Scotland, Northern Ireland, North England, and South East England.

Please note this opportunity supports young people and therefore is only available for 16-25 year olds. Anyone under 18 applying for this role must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is also registered as a Woodland Trust volunteer.
