Warden (America Wood, Isle of Wight)

Opportunity image

We are looking for volunteer Wardens to be our eyes on the ground across our woodland estates. Regularly walking routes through the wood, the volunteer Wardens will report issues to our Site Manager, and also note any interesting wildlife spotted in the wood. This role requires availability to visit the wood throughout the year. A great opportunity for someone who enjoys walking outdoors to help us care for local woodland.

For this role you will need access to a phone, the internet and an email address, as well as suitable outdoor clothing for the site – including sturdy footwear.

Anyone under 18 applying for this role must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is also registered as a Woodland Trust volunteer.

To achieve our vision of a world where woods and trees thrive for people and nature, we need to better reflect society and the communities we work in. All people, no matter their background, identity, ability, or circumstance, should benefit from trees. People of colour and disabled people are currently under-represented across the environment and conservation sector. If you identify as a person of colour and/or disabled, we particularly encourage you to apply.

Please contact us to discuss any additional support or adjustments you may need to complete your application.
